The Linshom continuous predictive respiratory monitoring (CPRM) uses a sophisticated thermal sensor that precisely detects and measures a patient’s spontaneous respiration in real time by measuring the temperature change in each inhalation and exhalation phase of the respiratory cycle.
It is non-invasive and is not corrupted by patient motion or supplemental oxygen use. The thermal sensor automatically adapts to the local thermal environment to deliver a robust signal without complicated hardware and firmware processing. The sensor can be held in an oxygen mask, nasal cannula or other delivery device and responds instantaneously to changes in temperature. The sensor captures an accurate signature of each breath. From the respiratory signature the system derives respiratory rate (RR), seconds since the last breath (SSLB), relative tidal volume (rTV).
The CPRM or Continuous Predictive Respiratory Monitor consists of a sophisticated sensor (disposable), a control unit and a monitor that displays the information.
